Vale Finance, a business and personal banking provider, is hiring a Legal Officer to lead legal recovery of non-performing loans, manage regulatory compliance and provide legal advice across the business
Job Details

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute legal strategies for the recovery of non-performing loans (NPLs) and delinquent accounts
- Draft and review demand letters, legal notices, agreements and other legal documentation
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies and external solicitors on legal and recovery matters
- Represent the company in legal proceedings or coordinate external counsel where required
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, CBN regulations, AML/CFT requirements and data protection standards
- Manage regulatory filings, internal compliance reviews and KYC-related legal processes
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on business transactions, contracts and regulatory matters
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend actions to mitigate organizational risk
Requirements
- LLB and BL (Called to the Nigerian Bar)
- 3-7 years' experience in legal practice, preferably within a bank, fintech or financial institution
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, debt recovery, litigation and financial services regulation
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail
