Finance Officer
About this role
Paga is hiring a Finance Officer for Memento Microfinance Bank Limited (MMFB), a CBN-licensed Tier 1 Unit digital microfinance bank, in Yaba, Lagos (hybrid). Reporting to the Head, Finance, Admin and MIS, the Finance Officer maintains accurate accounting records, processes financial transactions, supports treasury and lending operations, prepares reconciliations, supports financial reporting, and ensures compliance with CBN, FRC, IFRS, AML/CFT, Nigerian tax and internal requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Record daily accounting transactions and maintain books of accounts and general ledger records
- Process journals and accounting adjustments
- Prepare monthly schedules and reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset registers and accounting documentation
- Monitor income and expense accounts
- Support month-end and year-end financial close
- Support preparation and submission of CBN returns and prudential reporting
- Assist with AML/CFT reporting obligations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, treasury operations, financial services, fintech, lending or a similar regulated environment
- Practical experience in financial accounting, reconciliations, treasury operations and financial reporting
- Experience supporting loan accounting and credit administration
- Working knowledge of IFRS, tax administration and regulatory reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems
- ACA, ACCA, ICAN or equivalent certification is an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail, team spirit, and communication skills
