Backend Software Engineer

Escrow-Tech Nigeria Limited is recruiting a full-time Backend Software Engineer to join the AfWS Eko Atlantic City Tier-III Data Centre project team in Lagos. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize core server-side architectures, real-time data streaming feeds, and communication services required to power a high-availability infrastructure project. You will focus heavily on system scalability, message brokering, and containerized cloud deployment pipelines.

• API & Real-time Services: Design and deploy high-performance RESTful APIs, streaming WebSocket architectures, and communication services to handle live data feeds.

• Message Brokering & Event Streaming: Integrate and manage message broker systems to handle asynchronous data transmission and event-driven microservices.

• Database & Storage Management: Architect, optimize, and maintain relational database schemas, ensuring data integrity, speed, and security.

• Cloud Infrastructure & Containerization: Pack and deploy backend applications using containerization tools, working primarily within cloud environments.

• Testing & Security: Implement strict security protocols, access controls, and comprehensive test suites to deliver highly stable and well-tested production code.

• Tenure: Minimum of 3 years of dedicated backend software engineering experience inside an active production environment.

• Core Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Python, combined with working experience in at least one other language: Node.js, Go, or Java.

• Data Integration: Hands-on experience working with message brokers (MQTT, RabbitMQ, or Kafka) and database engines (PostgreSQL).

• DevOps & Cloud: Solid knowledge of container architectures (Docker) and cloud infrastructure ecosystems (with a strong preference for Azure).

• Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related computing discipline.
