Accounting and Finance Officer

Nestoil Limited, Nigeria’s largest indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) powerhouse in the oil and gas sector, is recruiting an Accounting and Finance Officer. Celebrating nearly 30 years of industry leadership and local content contribution, this position will be permanently based at Nestoil's active operational hub in Warri, Delta State.

The Accounting and Finance Officer will manage the group's accounts receivable (AR) structures, revenue tracking, and bank receipt reconciliations across multiple Strategic Business Units (SBUs). • Billing System Governance: Maintain and update the billing system, executing client invoicing and financial reporting activities under strict deadlines.

• Accounts Receivable Optimization: Track client collection pipelines, allocate incoming cash, and liaise directly with corporate banks to trace financial receipts and lodgments.

• Ledger Reconciliation: Prepare detailed monthly AR reconciliations, investigate invoice mismatches, and resolve billing discrepancies swiftly.

• Taxation & Accruals: Process monthly revenue accruals, post accounts receivable journals, and accurately log Withholding Tax (WHT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) deductions.

• Aging Analysis & Customer Files: Generate weekly AR aging analysis reports to flag overdue invoices, while maintaining up-to-date customer credit histories and lodgment evidence files.

• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the financial point of contact for external clients to address billing queries professionally via text, email, or physical channels.

• HSE Compliance: Adhere strictly to Nestoil’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) corporate policies within the heavy engineering workspace.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related quantitative field.

• Experience Baseline: 0 to 4 years of professional experience operating within an accounting or corporate finance framework (entry-level candidates with excellent internships are welcome).

• Technical Accounting Frameworks: Sound baseline knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial matching frameworks, and liability reporting definitions.

• Software Tooling: Solid proficiency navigating Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel for building reconciliation sheets.

• Professional Attributes: High level of personal integrity, sharp analytical problem-solving skills, extreme accuracy in handling data, and strong stress/time management capacities.
