About this role
Westfield Consulting Limited, recruiting on behalf of an integrated Oil & Gas enterprise, is seeking an experienced Head, Compliance & Risk. Located in Koko, Delta State, this executive role leads enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance (NUPRC, NCDMB, environmental standards), corporate governance, internal controls, and contract risk oversight across petroleum, marine, and waste management operations.
Key Responsibilities-
Regulatory Compliance & Assurance: Ensure strict alignment with Nigerian petroleum laws, NUPRC, NCDMB, DPR, environmental regulations, ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), NDPR data privacy, and statutory bodies (CAC, FIRS, PENCOM, NSITF, SCUML).

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Develop and drive risk frameworks to identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial, operational, environmental, and legal risks; lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Internal Audit & Governance: Conduct comprehensive operational, financial, and compliance audits; advise executive leadership and the Board Audit Committee on internal controls and ethical standards.

Legal Oversight & Contract Review: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements (EPCIC, Joint Ventures, procurement, marine services) and direct litigation/external counsel where necessary.

Board Secretarial Duties: Manage corporate secretarial functions where required, including statutory filings, board resolutions, and board meeting preparations.

Education & Credentials: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B / B.L) called to the Nigerian Bar. (An LL.M or MBA is highly preferred).

Professional Certifications: ICSAN (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria), CIArb (Chartered Institute of Arbitrators), or recognized Risk Management certifications.

Experience: 10 to 15 years of progressive legal, compliance, and risk management experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership position within the Oil & Gas sector.

Core Competencies: Expertise in Nigerian energy sector regulations, corporate governance, contract risk mitigation, dispute resolution, and audit execution.
