Civil Engineer - Progress Monitoring

Benin Asaba Expressway Concession Company, the holding company for the strategic federal government highway concession project managed by Africa Plus Partners to construct, maintain, and manage the Benin-Asaba Expressway, is recruiting a Civil Engineer - Progress Monitoring to join its technical operations in Benin City, Edo State. The engineer will own the daily track-and-trace mechanics of civil construction progress, comparing on-site execution against approved project milestones and identifying critical path delays to protect the project timeline.

• Progress Tracking: Monitor and track daily, weekly, and monthly construction milestones across all civil works activities, including earthworks, pavement works, structures, and drainage.

• Schedule Analysis: Compare actual site execution metrics against approved master project schedules, work programmes, and look-ahead baselines.

• Risk Mitigation: Identify project delays, productivity shortfalls, and critical path impacts; proactively flag delivery risks to management.

• Reporting & Dashboards: Collect, verify, and analyze raw progress data from field engineers and contractors to build reporting dashboards and stakeholder schedules.

• Quantity Certification: Collaborate with project planners and quantity surveying teams to measure, validate, and certify completed works alongside compiling photographic evidence.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering. Professional registration with a recognized engineering body is an advantage.

• Experience: 5–7 years of progressive experience in construction progress monitoring on large civil or infrastructure projects. Previous experience working on highways, roads, or major transportation networks is strongly preferred.

• Technical Skills: Strong familiarity with project scheduling methods, work sequencing logic, civil construction productivity baselines, and cross-functional reporting dynamics.
