About this role
Benin Asaba Expressway Concession Company, the holding company for the strategic federal government highway concession project managed by Africa Plus Partners to construct, maintain, and manage the Benin-Asaba Expressway, is recruiting a Project Manager to lead its operations in Benin City, Edo State. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the infrastructure lifecycle, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery in accordance with approved specifications, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities-
Strategic Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of the highway construction project; develop comprehensive execution plans, master schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.

Team Coordination: Direct the activities of multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, procurement, and commercial departments.

Contract & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with government agencies, consultants, transport stakeholders, host communities, and utility providers. Oversee contractor/subcontractor performance using FIDIC contract conditions.

Risk & Financial Controls: Identify potential execution issues, implement proactive risk mitigation strategies, drive cost control initiatives, and ensure efficient resource utilization.

Compliance & HSSE: Enforce strict compliance with contract requirements, engineering standards, environmental regulations, and Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) corporate policies.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. A Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction/Project Management, or an MBA is an added advantage.

Professional Certifications: Professional registration with COREN and membership in NSE (or relevant professional bodies) is required. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in civil engineering or infrastructure development, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role overseeing major highway, bridge, or transportation infrastructure projects. Experience with PPP/concession environments is a plus.

Technical Skills: Advanced project planning and scheduling using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6; deep understanding of project controls, claims management, and financial budgeting.
