Accountant

O.K. Isokariari (Nigeria) Limited—a major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm with over 50 years of experience executing civil engineering, infrastructure, and building projects—is recruiting an intermediate-level Accountant in Rivers State. This full-time position handles general ledger management, daily transactions (AP/AR), account reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory tax compliance, and audit support for heavy civil engineering operations.

• General Ledger & Daily Transactions: Record daily accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger journal entries; manage bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Period-End Close & Reporting: Prepare month-end and year-end accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, budget variance analyses, and preliminary financial statements.

• Audit & Tax Compliance: Pull sample documentation, schedules, and vouchers for internal/external audits; ensure adherence to local tax regulations and internal financial controls.

• Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting workflows using advanced spreadsheet models and accounting software.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in enterprise accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or Xero).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, financial formulas).

• Core Competencies: High level of accuracy, analytical problem-solving skills, solid understanding of local tax/statutory regulations, strict confidentiality, and strong internal control mindset.
