About this role
Benin Asaba Expressway Concession Company, the holding company for the landmark federal government highway concession project managed by Africa Plus Partners to construct, maintain, and manage the Benin-Asaba Expressway, is recruiting a Civil Engineer (QA / QC) to join its team in Benin City, Edo State. The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems across all phases of the expressway construction project to ensure all materials, workmanship, testing, and completed infrastructure meet rigorous engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities-
Quality Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain the project's QA/QC procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality method statements across all construction phases.

Inspections & Site Audits: Conduct rigorous inspections of earthworks, pavement, bridges, drainage systems, concrete works, and asphalt production to verify compliance with approved technical drawings.

Materials Testing: Coordinate comprehensive laboratory and field testing of structural materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel) and monitor the calibration of testing equipment.

Non-Conformance Management: Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when quality targets are missed and track corrective and preventive actions until formal closure.

Documentation & Reporting: Prepare, monitor, and maintain quality logs, material approvals, and test reports; deliver periodic QA/QC reports to project leadership.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Professional registration with COREN and membership in NSE or relevant professional bodies is an added advantage. Certification in Quality Management (ISO 9001) is desirable.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in QA/QC roles within road, highway, bridge, or large civil infrastructure projects. Experience with federal concession projects and FIDIC contracts is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of road construction specifications and international testing standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and Nigerian engineering standards).

Core Competencies: High level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent technical report writing and stakeholder management capabilities.
