Head, Strategic Finance / Financial Controller

BUA Group—a leading Foods & Infrastructure Conglomerate in Nigeria—is recruiting a full-time Head, Strategic Finance / Financial Controller for its foods division in Lagos. This senior leadership position directs financial control, statutory IFRS reporting, tax compliance, treasury controls, and group consolidations to ensure asset protection and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Control & Consolidations: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, oversee group consolidated financial statements, and maintain accounting policy manuals.

• Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to IFRS standards, monitor system reports for accuracy, oversee new accounting pronouncements, and coordinate with external auditors and regulatory stakeholders.

• Team & Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction to the core accounting team while liaising with divisional finance heads on complex or non-routine transactions.

Requirements

Primary Requirements

• Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of experience operating in a senior financial leadership role.

• Education: B.Sc. in Accountancy (an MBA or M.Sc. is an advantage).

• Certifications: Relevant senior professional certifications (FCA, FCCA, ACTI).

• Industry Experience: Proven track record within FMCG, food and beverage, or large-scale manufacturing sectors.
