Automation Specialist

Perfetti Van Melle Nigeria Limited—a global leader in confectionery and chewing gum manufacturing—is recruiting an Automation Specialist for its Lagos operations. 

• Instrument Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily troubleshooting, maintenance, inspection, and testing of measuring and indicating instruments (e.g., pressure, temperature gauges) to maintain peak operational efficiency.

• System Testing & Defect Detection: Test the accuracy of controllers, recording, and indicating instruments to locate and repair defective components in system circuits.

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Initiate, own, and assist with Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and complete resulting corrective action items.

• Documentation & Technical Drawings: Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports reflecting modifications made to instruments, circuits, and systems.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with plant technicians to foster a unified, team-oriented environment focused on shared objectives and QHSE policy compliance.

• Reporting: Keep supervisors updated on project progress, instrumentation issues, and status reports while prioritizing assigned tasks.

• Degree: HND or B.Sc. in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in automation or instrumentation roles.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Proven track record of optimizing business and manufacturing operations.

• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and commitment to workplace safety/QHSE standards.
