Accountant / Bookkeeper

HR-EX Consulting is recruiting a remote Accountant / Bookkeeper on behalf of its client to manage day-to-day corporate financial operations across multiple business entities and DBAs. This full-time role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, operating on a remote schedule fully aligned with US Eastern Standard Time (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST).

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage AR/AP processes, handle nightly customer invoicing, process vendor payments, and follow up on outstanding collections.

• Bank & Credit Reconciliations: Perform daily/weekly reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and credit card transactions across various DBAs.

• Payroll Administration: Coordinate weekly staff payroll processes using QuickBooks Payroll and QuickBooks Time.

• Job Costing & Project Accounting: Support construction job costing, project-based accounting, customer financing documentation, and subcontractor payment tracking.

• Cash Management & Financial Close: Monitor daily cash positions, identify financial variances, maintain accounting process documentation, and support month-end closing activities.

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of core accounting or bookkeeping experience.

• Big 4 Background: Previous Big 4 accounting firm experience is highly preferred/required.

• Mandatory Software Tools:

  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online Advanced is mandatory.

  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Payroll and QuickBooks Time.

• Domain Knowledge: Construction job costing or project-based accounting knowledge is a strong advantage.

• Schedule Alignment: Full availability to overlap live during 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST business hours.

• Meticulous attention to detail and precision in handling high-volume transaction entries.

• Analytical problem-solving ability to navigate multi-entity financial structures.

• High level of self-motivation and organizational discipline for independent remote work.
