This specialized technical audit role provides independent control assurance over Moniepoint's payment products, wallet systems, settlement infrastructure, and transaction processing engines. The auditor acts as a pre-release control gate, executing risk assessments, querying transaction databases via SQL, and ensuring product logic complies with CBN regulations and financial control standards.
Key Responsibilities-
Product Audit Planning & Universe: Maintain a dynamic, risk-ranked Product Audit Universe across all wallet, payment, switch, and settlement features.
-
Control Design & Pre-Go-Live Assurance: Review PRDs, transaction workflows, Maker-Checker rules, and exception-handling logic to sign off on product design controls prior to production deployment.
-
Continuous Live Audit & SQL Data Interrogation: Use advanced SQL queries to analyze fee engines, tax/VAT calculations, chargeback symmetry, and split-payment accuracy in real-time production environments.
-
Settlement & Ledger Integrity: Trace fund flows between wallet sub-ledgers and the General Ledger, assessing reconciliation logic, manual overrides, and third-party API dependencies.
-
Regulatory Compliance & RCA: Ensure product features comply with CBN regulations, PCI DSS, and NDPR standards; lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on product incident failures.
-
Governance Reporting: Present risk-rated audit findings and quarterly control maturity updates to Executive Management and the Audit Committee.
-
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
-
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of experience in Product Audit, IT/Systems Audit, Financial Data Analytics, or Payment Operations within a fintech or financial institution.
-
Certifications: CISA, CIA, or CFE preferred (ACA/ACCA accepted if combined with strong technical product and SQL analytics experience).
-
Technical Proficiency:
-
Advanced SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL) for data extraction and transaction interrogation.
-
Deep understanding of payment system architecture, wallet sub-ledgers, card processing, API integration, and clearing/settlement flows.
-
Proficiency with AI tools (Claude), advanced Excel, and process mapping.
-
-
Regulatory Knowledge: Hands-on familiarity with CBN payment guidelines, PCI DSS, NDPR, and Nigerian consumer protection obligations.
