About this role
SIL Chemicals is recruiting an Assistant Warehouse Manager for its warehouse facility along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Isolo, Lagos State.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this key operational role supports the day-to-day coordination of receiving, inventory control, picking, and dispatching across a diverse product portfolio—including industrial polymers, flammable solvents, food-grade raw materials, cosmetic ingredients, pharmaceutical raw materials, and specialty chemicals.
Key Responsibilities-
Operational Supervision: Assist in daily planning, coordinating receiving, inspecting, picking, packing, and dispatch operations to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Chemical Safety & Storage: Enforce proper product segregation based on hazard classification, temperature needs, and compatibility guidelines, with particular focus on flammable solvents and specialty chemicals.

Hygienic & Compliance Standards: Maintain sanitary storage conditions for food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical inputs to prevent contamination; ensure adherence to SOPs, Good Warehouse Practices (GWP), GSP, and GDP.

Stock & Systems Control: Execute daily/periodic cycle counts, physical inventory reconciliations, and batch/lot tracking via ERP/WMS systems using FEFO/FIFO dispatch methods.

Team Leadership & Safety: Supervise shift personnel, enforce HSSE safety guidelines, conduct staff onboarding/training on equipment operation, and report inventory discrepancies or equipment maintenance needs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management (preferably within the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, or manufacturing sectors).

Supervisory Track Record: Prior supervisory or shift-lead experience in a warehouse setting is an advantage.

Certifications: Professional credentials in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management, or Health & Safety (OSHA, NEBOSH) are an added advantage.

Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with WMS/ERP platforms and MS Office; working knowledge of FEFO/FIFO rules, batch control, hazard material handling, and regulatory compliance.
