About this role
African Industries Group (AIG)—a global conglomerate with over 50 years of operations in Nigeria across steel manufacturing, chemicals, power, and industrial development—is recruiting an Environmental Engineer for its plant operations in Ikorodu, Lagos State. This full-time technical role focuses on factory pollution monitoring, environmental data collection, statutory regulatory compliance, waste/emission reduction, and maintaining ISO environmental management systems across the manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities-
Pollution Monitoring & Data Analysis: Track and measure factory pollution levels, collect environmental data, and generate analytical reports to guide plant management decisions.

Regulatory Compliance & ISO Standards: Ensure plant operations align with federal and state environmental laws, while maintaining technical documentation required for ISO environmental management compliance.

Impact & Cost Reduction: Propose and execute plant-wide initiatives aimed at minimizing environmental footprint, controlling industrial emissions, reducing waste, and lowering related operating costs.

Continuous Improvement: Design and implement factory-level environmental enhancement programs.

Education: HND or B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Experience: 3 to 6 years of relevant hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, pollution control, and regulatory compliance. Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Technical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, environmental auditing/data logging, and technical report writing.

Residency: Candidates currently living in Ikorodu or neighboring areas are preferred.
