About this role
Hope Payment Service Bank (Hope PSBank)—a leading payment service bank in Nigeria—is recruiting a Head of Banking Operations for its corporate operations. Reporting to and supporting the Group Head of Operations, this executive role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end banking operations, electronic channel settlements, general ledger (GL) reconciliations, interbank placement processing, investment bookings, and transaction turnaround times (TAT).
Key Responsibilities-
Settlement & Electronic Channel Operations: Oversee transaction processing across electronic payment platforms, POS merchant inward transfers, failed transaction refunds, and switching company reconciliations (Core Banking System vs. Settlement reports).

General Ledger & Proof of Accounts: Perform daily proof of accounts and reconcile all internal operations/settlement GLs against external bank statements (e.g., CBN RTGS, settlement accounts, current accounts).

Treasury & Investment Operations: Manage interbank placements, fixed deposits, Treasury Bills (NTB), bonds, and deliver client investment confirmations promptly.

Supervision & Operational Control: Act as back-up to the Group Head of Operations, supervise operational teams, and enforce transaction record archiving and compliance documentation.

Education: Minimum of a First Degree (B.Sc. / HND) in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.

Professional Certification: ACA/FCA (ICAN), ACCA, or CIBN charter is required.

Experience: Minimum of 12 years’ post-graduation experience in core commercial banking or payment service bank operations.

Technical Skills: Advanced general ledger reconciliation, core banking system (CBS) navigation, payment channel settlement protocols, and MS Office Suite proficiency.
