Inventory Accountant / Senior Accountant
About this role
Genesis Group—a major Nigerian hospitality, catering, restaurant, and cinema conglomerate operating over 30 locations across the country—is recruiting an Inventory Accountant / Senior Accountant (ACA, ACCA) for its regional operations headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Supply Chain Controller, this role manages bulk food/beverage stock auditing, inventory ledger reconciliations, procurement variance analyses, and cycle counts across central production kitchens, restaurants, and hospitality venues.
Key Responsibilities

Inventory Ledger & Transaction Logging: Maintain precise accounting records for all raw ingredient purchases, stock transfers, kitchen usage, and finished goods inventory.

General Ledger Reconciliation & Variance Analysis: Reconcile store inventory accounts against the general ledger, audit unit consumption reports, and investigate stock shrinkage or spoilage variances.

Physical Stock Counts & Audits: Organize and execute periodic physical cycle counts, stock audits, and year-end inventory verifications across Port Harcourt processing kitchens and outlets.

Cost Accounting & Management Reporting: Evaluate food and beverage costing, calculate unit margins, compile inventory turnover reports, and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS frameworks.

Mandatory Credentials: B.Sc. in Accounting/Finance + active ACA (ICAN) or ACCA certification.

Software Toolstack: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel (data modeling, inventory formulas, pivot tables).

Core Competencies: Inventory control mechanics, stock valuation, cost accounting, attention to detail, and cross-departmental collaboration with warehouse and culinary leads.
