HR Manager

About the Role

Our client, based in Victoria Island (VI), Lagos and operating in the energy and utilities sector, is seeking an HR Manager to lead and build on the people function within the organization. This role owns the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, culture and HR systems. The HR Manager reports to the Director of HR and works closely with department heads to ensure the company maintains strong, well-supported practices.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end recruitment from job requisitions through offer and onboarding
• Manage HR compliance with Nigerian labour law, including contracts, statutory deductions, leave policies and workplace safety standards
• Oversee the performance management system, including goal-setting, review cycles and career progression pathways
• Lead employee relations, including conflict resolution, grievance handling and disciplinary processes
• Set up and manage HR systems and tools (HRIS, payroll coordination, attendance and shift tracking)

Requirements

• 3-5 years of progressive HR experience
• Solid working knowledge of Nigerian labour law and statutory compliance requirements
• Experience managing recruitment pipelines and onboarding new employees
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion
• Experience with HRIS or HR tools and basic payroll coordination
• Bachelor's degree or HND in a related field; CIPM, CIPD, SHRM or equivalent HR certification is a strong plus

Compensation

NGN 450,000 - 500,000 per month.
