Lead Accountant
About this role
A leading supply chain and logistics company is recruiting a full-time Lead Accountant. Based in Apapa, Lagos, this role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, budget management, and financial leadership within the organization.
Key Responsibilities-
Financial Reporting & Governance: Oversee daily financial transactions, general ledger accuracy, and prepare timely financial statements in line with accounting standards.

Taxation & Compliance: Manage local, state, and federal tax filings, statutory deductions, and ensure full compliance with regulatory tax laws.

Budgeting & Cost Control: Drive annual budgeting processes, monitor expenditure, conduct variance analysis, and support financial forecasting.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, streamline internal control mechanisms, and coordinate financial audits.

Certification (Mandatory): Professional certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is required.

Degree: Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management (experience within supply chain/logistics is an added advantage).

Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS), corporate taxation, budgeting, and financial software/ERP systems.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, team leadership, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.
