Automation Engineer

Rite Foods Limited—a leading Nigerian food and beverage manufacturing company known for its sausage, soft drink, and energy drink lines—is recruiting Automation Engineers (2 Openings) for its facilities in Abuja and Ogun State. Reporting within the engineering department, this senior technical role is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, control networks, and high-speed automated bottling lines (specifically Krones machinery) to minimize plant downtime and ensure operational safety.

• Process Automation & Maintenance: Troubleshoot, program, and support corrective/preventive maintenance for plant-wide PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, drives, and control networks.

• Krones Line & Process Control: Minimize production downtime caused by automated process malfunctions; support continuous improvement and recipe/new product implementations on high-speed bottling lines.

• Software & Version Management: Perform regular software backups, parameter registration, calibration activities, license management, and software version control.

• Obsolescence & Contingency Planning: Develop and execute automation maintenance policies, emergency contingency plans, and manage third-party vendor teleservice/support services.

• Technical Training & Mentorship: Evaluate shift electrical technicians, conduct technical assessments, and train operators on process automation troubleshooting.

• Education: First Degree (B.Sc. / B.Eng. / HND) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, or Automation Engineering.

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in a structured FMCG/bottling manufacturing environment.

• Machine Specific Expertise: Specific, hands-on expertise in Krones machines/bottling systems is required.

• Core Competencies: Advanced process automation, PLC/SCADA programming, equipment optimization, instrumentation calibration, and technical team leadership.
