About this role
Mshel Homes Limited—a Nigerian real estate development and construction firm established in 2018—is recruiting an HSE Officer for its property development and construction sites in Abuja (FCT). This site safety leadership role enforces Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across real estate project sites, conducts risk assessments and site audits, manages PPE compliance, investigates incidents, and ensures regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Safety Enforcement & Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits across construction sites to identify hazards, enforce PPE compliance, and implement corrective actions.

Risk Assessment & Incident Response: Perform health and safety risk assessments, lead accident/near-miss investigations, document findings, and manage emergency response protocols.

Training & Safety Culture: Deliver safety induction, toolbox talks, and technical HSE training for site workers, contractors, and subcontractors.

Environmental & Compliance Governance: Monitor waste disposal and hazardous material storage while maintaining up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS), permits, certifications, and compliance logs.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.

Professional Certifications (Advantage): NEBOSH, IOSH, NISCN, or equivalent professional health and safety certifications.

Experience Baseline: Practical HSE experience, preferably within real estate development, building construction, or engineering environments.

Core Competencies: Risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation, regulatory HSE compliance, site inspection, and technical documentation.
