Job Title: Inland Coordinator
Location: Lagos, Nigeria

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inland Coordinator to manage inland transportation operations and ensure the efficient coordination of import and export shipments. The successful candidate will be responsible for booking management, vendor coordination, shipment monitoring, system updates, invoice validation, customer communication, and operational support to ensure efficient service delivery and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process online and manual bookings and maintain accurate booking information in internal systems.
- Coordinate import and export shipment activities, including booking announcements, shipment updates, and movement tracking.
- Update customer loading locations, booking details, and shipment information while ensuring data accuracy.
- Monitor shipment progress, identify operational discrepancies, and coordinate timely resolutions with internal teams and vendors.
- Allocate and authorize work orders (WO) while ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
- Coordinate with transport vendors to ensure timely container movements, monitor truck availability, and report vendor performance.
- Verify tariffs, additional charges, and invoice accuracy, coordinating with vendors, Finance, and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies.
- Generate and process additional shipment costs (TREX) and support invoice processing activities.
- Liaise with customers regarding placement schedules, delivery requirements, location updates, and additional transportation costs.
- Coordinate with port terminals, clearing agents, and transport vendors to facilitate container releases, gate passes, and delivery documentation.
- Arrange replacement of damaged containers and ensure timely completion of inland movements.
- Support vendor selection in line with approved allocation processes and secure alternative vendors for ad hoc transport requirements.
- Monitor operational KPIs, maintain accurate shipment records, and provide timely operational updates.
- Handle Salesforce, Contact Centre, and after-hours operational communications to support business continuity.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2–3 years experience in inland logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or container transportation operations.
- Good understanding of import/export documentation, container logistics, and inland transportation processes.
- Experience working with shipping and logistics systems and operational reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of vendor management, shipment coordination, and invoice reconciliation.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and provide after-hours operational support when required.
