Vice President (VP), Software Engineering

ActiveEdge Technologies—a technology solutions provider focused on value creation and business productivity—is recruiting a Vice President (VP), Software Engineering for its operations in Lekki, Lagos. This executive leadership role is accountable for defining and executing the company's technology vision, managing the end-to-end product development lifecycle, scaling engineering teams, and aligning software delivery with strategic business objectives.

• Strategy & Architecture: Formulate the strategic technology vision, roadmap, and architectural blueprints for software products and integration services; research emerging technologies and industry best practices.

• Software Development & DevOps Lifecycle: Oversee all stages of product development—from product definition, UI/UX, and backlog management to release planning, DevOps, and secure coding standards.

• Technical Leadership & Coding Standards: Establish engineering "gold standards," conduct high-level code reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance system architectures using modern tech stacks (Node.js, Java Spring Boot, Python FastAPI/Django, React, and Next.js).

• Team Building & Talent Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technical team; establish effective training frameworks and maintain high staff engagement and retention.

• Business Development & Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with product managers, project managers, and innovation leads; support pre-sale activities, technical proposals, client demos, and executive business discussions.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degrees such as an MBA, M.Sc., or Ph.D. are an advantage).

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior technology leadership role (e.g., Head of Software Engineering or VP of Technology), with a proven track record of managing large-scale technology projects and engineering teams.

• Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in backend development frameworks (Node.js, Java Spring Boot, Python), frontend technologies (React, Next.js), system architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management.

• Core Competencies: Exceptional strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, financial/budget management for technology investments, and executive-level communication skills.
